Fight Club - More Information

As from February the 5th, 2011 we will be running Fight Club! This monthly squad training is open to all comers and will empower you with valuable sparring skills and advanced fitness training in a safe controlled environment, and of course under the close supervision of not one but two experienced instructors, Regional Instructor Dan Maguire and Area Instructor Jo Maguire.

Dan and Jo will be putting the attendees to the test with competition ready fitness training and the option in each session to take part in a mock tournament situation (or simply spectate). We will be concentrating on improving your footwork, timing  and evasion as well as setting up your opponents, fast reaction drills, set piece combinations, deep flexibility, greater strength and fitness and stamina training.

A lot of this is of course covered in your regular classes, however the emphasis will be on sparring and fitness, we will not be covering the grading sequences at all! Even if you dont actually wish to take part in the sparring itself these sessions will be geared towards fighting skills and the required fitness and endurance required to compete at a high level, without gassing out after the first minute.

Team Fight Club

Once established we hope to create a team, Team Fight Club! Fighters from within the team will then be able to attend the PKA National Tournaments as well as mini Inter-Club Tournaments and of course our yearly Charity Fight Nights as part of a group rather than just individuals. To add further weight to the team you will be able to purchase special team T-Shirts (see below) and wear them within the classes and at competitions!
