The Chilwell class (formerly Bramcote) has been established since 2001, we meet every Tuesday evening between 7.00pm to 9.15pm, two seperate classes, one for beginners, one for advanced which means that new starters are not thrown in at the deep end and likewise the more experienced students can concentrate on the finer details of the sport. Children, teenagers and adults attend offering a good mix of students and a friendly family atmosphere. The classes both take place in the activities studio which is a great sized room ideal for martial arts, a well lit car park offers ample parking if you intend driving, its a great venue with all the usual centre amenities you would expect to find.

Student of The Year Awards - Christmas 2009 (15/12/09)
Each year at Christmas time we present our ‘Student of the Year Awards’ to students of merit who have proved themselves through hard work and dedication over the last twelve months. These awards are often given to people that have excellent attendance, a great attitude towards their training and often those who are happy to partner up and train well with anyone else within the class. Therefore it gives me great pleasure to announce that this year the awards go to....

Your Instructor - Joanne Maguire (Formerly Harrison) - 3/7/09
As many of you are aware instructor Joanne Harrison has been engaged to fellow instructor Dan Maguire for over eighteen months, after Jo and Dan married recently she took on her new name of Joanne Maguire. Old news stories within this website will still reference Jo by her maiden name but we thought it would be worthwhile to mention this so as not to confuse any would be new starters who are seeing this site for the first time. If you would like to read more about Jo and Dan's big day please see the News page.

Tournament Success For Bramcote Fighters - 17/5/09
A big well done to Jimmy Tristram, Kumar Kapoor and Pete Harris who all competed in the PKA National Championships 2009 which took place on May 16th, Jimmy, Kumar and Pete train weekly at the Bramcote class in Nottingham, with Area Instructor Joanne Harrison, and decided to put their skills to the test by taking part in the main event of the PKA's yearly calender, the Nationals. Kumar, 53, overcame his nerves to put on a tremendous display of technique, control and sportsmanship eventually losing to a Leicestershire based fighter.

Jimmy, 18, also put on a great performance unfortunately losing out to another of Joanne Harrison's students from nearby class in Castle Donington. Pete Harris, 28, really out did himself by overcoming all the opposition in his category and went on to take the gold medal, a fantastic performance considering this was his first competition. Again, congratulations to you all and a big thank you to all the spectators who attended in support of the guys on the day.

Introduce a Friend and Earn Yourself £25.00
As a special promotion over the next few months we will be running our popular Introduce a Friend scheme within the club, this is usually carried out by handing out to your friends, colleagues or family members one of our refferal slip which you can get from your instructor. The slip will have all the information you will need to pass onto your friends making your life really easy! You write your name on the slips so that we know who introduced who and if they join up you will receive £25.00 cash as a thank you.....It's That Easy!
How much and how soon would I get my referral fee money? If somebody you have referred then decides to join one of our classes, taking out full membership, you will instantly be rewarded with a £25.00 cash referral fee as a thank you for spreading the word.
The more people you introduce the more money we will pay you! If two of your friends sign up, we will pay you £50.00 and so on, one young boy, ten years old, has recently earned himself £125.00 by bringing along five of his school class mates to one of our clubs, If a ten year old can do it so can you!!
Want to earn even more money? If you could do with some extra income, we are looking for people to poster up the local area with our new EMK posters, places like take-aways, fish and chip shops, newsagents, schools, places of work etc. would all be ideal.
How would I be rewarded? We will make a list of the places you have put your posters so that if people join up from seeing your poster we can reward you with £25.00 per person in exactly the same way as the referral system, we always ask how new members heard about us.
But the class I train at is already busy! All of our classes need continual ongoing promotion to help replace the people that leave due to natural drop of rates and personal changes of circumstance, if your class is already pretty busy it is probably because similar promotion has been in place in previous years.
